Jakarta PMI Sends 110 Blood Bags to North Aceh

The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Jakarta sent aid in the form of 110 blood bags to support health services in North Aceh.

The blood sent consisted of 50 bags of PRC Blood Type A, then 50 bags of PRC Blood Type B and 10 bags of PRC Blood Type O.

City Prepares Humanitarian Aid for Disaster Victims in Sumatra

Head of PMI Jakarta, Beky Mardani, said the blood bags aid are a form of concern and solidarity with residents facing disasters in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Assistance will be adjusted to requests from the affected locations.

"We prepared the blood bags according to North Aceh UUD PMI's request," he said, Saturday (11/29).

According to him, the blood assistancr was delivered by air thanks to the support and synergy between the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) headquarters, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), and the Indonesian Air Force. Technically, the aid was transported from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport by plane to Iskandar Muda Airport and then transferred by helicopter to Lhokseumawe.

"We express our deepest gratitude for the humanitarian collaboration that has been established to support disaster management in Sumatra," he stated.

Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta UDD PMI, Ni Ken Ritchie expressed her appreciation to the entire team involved, ensuring the blood donations arrived in less than 24 hours, in good condition, and with maintained quality.

The blood donation arrived in pristine condition thanks to the high-standard packaging of the Jakarta PMI Blood Donation Unit (UDD) team. She hopes the assistance will give benefit to the residents of North Aceh.

"The Jakarta PMI will continue to provide the best possible support to disaster-affected areas in Sumatra. The spirit of collaboration and solidarity is a key force in helping communities in need," she said.
